Asher Kohn is journalist in Silicon Valley. He is primarily interested in urban infrastructure and communities’ relationships towards it — particularly water rights and access to water. He is currently a reporter for the Los Altos Town Crier.

Asher is also an editor for Ajam Media Collective, where he writes and edits work focused on cultural and geographic identity in West Asia. He also has written freelance on a variety of subjects and worked as an editor for Timeline News. More on Asher’s writing career can be found here.

Asher is competent with Adobe Creative Suite and Mapbox’s TileMill GIS software. He has studied Turkish, Persian, Spanish, Hebrew, and Urdu and can mumble in these languages with varying proficiencies.

Before California he lived in Turkey, where he was working as a freelance writer and researcher. He has also lived in the Netherlands, and has reported from the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Georgia, Croatia, and Azerbaijan.
